Ophthalmic technicians are trained to assist an Optometrist in surgery, record medical histories, test eye function, measure vision, administer medications, and many other tasks. With an accredited education you can train to be a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist. Students can learn anatomy, medical terminology, physiology, ethics, ocular anatomy, microbiology, psychology, ophthalmic
pharmacology and many other related subjects. There are a number of accredited schools and colleges that offer training in ophthalmic technology allowing you to find employment in a hospital, clinic, or Ophthalmologists office.
Optometry
