Animal Care Specialist
Accredited schools and colleges offer training in specific areas of animal care including medical care, grooming, training, supervision, and more. With a career as an animal care specialist you can find employment in animal shelters, kennels, zoos, pet stores, veterinary clinics, rescue agencies, and many other facilities. Workshops and seminars are available to those looking to become managers of animal shelters or veterinary clinics, and those who would like to start their own business. Coursework for students seeking a degree in this field may include biology, nutrition,
laboratory procedures, veterinary anatomy, math, systemic physiology, and other relevant courses.
Veterinary Technician
Veterinary technicians are in charge of conducting tests, taking blood, developing x-rays, caring for animals, and assisting the veterinarian in routine tasks related to the care of animals. As a veterinary technician you can work with a variety of animals in veterinary hospitals and clinics, kennels, wildlife facilities, zoos, or other related amenities.
